GARDENING CLASSES for kids and adults this summer: June is National Pollinator Month and gardening classes will include information about working with bees! You are invited to drop in any Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9-12:00 pm to our community garden. Community volunteers Audrey and Josh will be working with students and families to grow the garden. They will talk about pollinators, flowers, soil, watering, composting and the importance of eating nutrient rich food for healthy brains and bodies in our students. Enter through south garden door by the playground.
SUMMER MEALS – East Midvale Elementary is one of four sites in Canyons District that are providing FREE breakfast and lunch for any child 18 years and under this summer. This service is from June 5-July 28 Monday through Friday. Breakfast served 8:30-9:30 am and lunch served 11:30-12:30 pm. CSD Summer Meal Information
CBC FOOD PANTRY – Communities Building Communities (CBC) has an open food pantry every Friday starting at 9:00 am. Food available as supplies last (usually out by 1:00 pm). Address is 49 W. Center St. Midvale.
MEDICAID HEALTH INSURANCE – Are you uninsured and need help finding insurance for your kids and family? Take Care Utah can answer questions and help you sign up for free! Call 801-433-2299. If you were taken off Medicaid recently and do not understand why, call Take Care Utah for information and help re-applying.
SUMMER DATES TO NOTE:
- Tuesday July 11 at 3:00 -3:30 pm – East Midvale’s Community Corner at Tyler Library. Ms. Pua will be there to read and do an activity. It will be fun to see EME friends. Kid’s Café serves snack every day Mon-Sat at Tyler Library 2:00-4:00 pm.
- Registration for new school year opens August 1 on Skyward.
- Produce Market begins again August 15.
