THANK YOU to the following organizations who provided food resources for our community: Thanksgiving Heroes, Teachers for Hope, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sandy.
CANYONS FAMILY CENTER COURSES available at East Midvale in early 2024! Ms. Valerie Payne, our school social worker, will be sending out a post to gauge community interest in four different courses that she will be teaching during the school day; 2 courses for parents only, 2 courses for students. Please look for that communication this week and let her know if you would likely attend.
FREE GROCERIES from the UTAH FOOD BANK: On Tuesday December 5, the Utah Food Bank and volunteers from Snap Finance will be distributing a bag of free groceries to students and families. The bags are heavy (20 pounds) and if you are able to either pick up your student at school or at the bus stop to help carry, that would be helpful. Parents can meet their students as they exit the gym on the north side of the school.
ALL PRO DADS FRI. Dec. 8! Fathers and father figures are invited to come for a morning program. The topic will be Gentleness and there is a fun video and activity that Mr. Heath will lead. Program starts at 7:30 am in the gym and breakfast is provided. RSVP on the Parent Square invitation.

SPELLING BEE WORDS! – Thank you to our PTA for again sponsoring the Scripps Spelling Bee at East Midvale. Word lists are available for students to take home or print and then to study over the holidays. The classroom spelling bees will be in early February 2024 and the schoolwide spelling bee will follow.
INSIDE MORNINGS – Winter weather is soon here, and with it, there are lots of questions regarding our procedures regarding cold weather concerns. Students are expected to wait outside in the morning and go outside to recess throughout the day unless: the air quality is poor, if the temperature feels like it is below 22 degrees Fahrenheit, or if the precipitation is such that students will get soaked if they stay outside. If administration calls an inside morning, we open the hallway doors and have students go from breakfast right to class when the bus arrives or they are dropped off.
FREE WIFI INTERNET – Canyons District continues to provide free internet for families through Comcast Internet Essentials. To enroll, reply to this post or call Mrs. McCall at East Midvale at 801 826 8406. Ask for a Comcast Code. Then call Comcast at 1-844-963 0178 with the code.
