HOT CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER – Student Council is doing their annual fundraiser this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Students will be selling hot chocolate in the cafeteria during lunch for students to buy. Cost is $1.00. The money raised will help the future student council go on leadership field trips, buy shirts, and bring more community service events to East Midvale.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES: Look for a communication from your child’s teacher this week to sign up. Spanish and Arabic interpreters available both nights. Other language needs for interpretation will be scheduled for Wednesday February 26.

PTA UPDATE:
- Boxtops for Education is paying off for East Midvale. Thank you for scanning your receipts. Our community exceeded the January goal of $250.00 and are on track to meet the $275.00 February goal. Download the Boxtops for Education app, scan receipts and raise $$ for our school!
- PTA Spirit Night is February 20 from 5:00-7:00 pm at McDonalds in Midvale. Stop by, order through the app or the kiosk and earn money for East Midvale. Faculty and staff will be there to say hi along with a special guest who will be handing out tickets for a drawing. PTA wants to exceed last year’s amount ($600) and raise $1,000.00 for teachers, classrooms and students!
- PTA sponsored Scripps Spelling Bee will be February 21! Classroom spelling bees for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes were held last week and winners will compete to be the top 2 spellers at East Midvale. Parents are welcomed to attend. Volunteers still needed.
- The Scholastic Book Fair during parent teacher conferences is hosted by the PTA. Forty percent of the proceeds of each sale go back to East Midvale and is used to purchase books for classrooms and students. Volunteer for an hour at the Book Fair to make sure it can be staffed.
- It is not too late to join the PTA. Your donation of $5.00 gets you membership. If thirteen more people join, we will have exceeded last year’s membership role.
