East Midvale school was transformed into a hive of activity on Thursday morning of fall break. The Brighton High varsity football players and coaches took time out in their playoff bye week to do service at East Midvale. Thank you to BHS team mom Misa Sorenson who organized the service project with only 36 hours notice!
Divided into teams based on their respective team positions, 80 players fanned out through the school and grounds and check off major to-dos including:
- deep cleaning cafeteria tables, benches and mural walls
- removing old banners and hanging 13 new banners in the gym including Labubu inspired art created by students
- clearing out closets, moving old furniture and building desks
- weeding gardens and clearing the fields and playgrounds of trash
- finishing the paint detail work on the new activity grids in the community garden and sprucing up the GaGa pits with new paint.
Thank you Coach Setura and your staff, Mia Sorenson and all the players! East Midvale was made Canyons Strong(er) with your service! Good luck in the playoffs!
