Twelve students from East Midvale mentored by four students from Hillcrest High demonstrated their skills playing the cello at the year end recital on Wednesday. These 3rd, 4th and 5th graders have been taking weekly lessons since December through the Title I Strings program. These young people learned to play a new instrument, learned to read music and keep time and gave a great demonstration of that by playing two songs for an appreciating audience of parents, teachers and students.
