Look for a sign up to volunteer at the Scholastic book fair on Sep 22nd & 23rd. Currently PTA has 29 official members and we are always looking to build our membership. It cost $8.00 to support PTA and no obligations exist for members. Look for a school wide classroom contest to increase membership. Sign up to help your children win a classroom pizza (1st place) or donut party (2nd place)

SALTA APPLICATIONS: Supporting Advanced Learners Toward Achievement (SALTA) is the Gifted and Talented Program in Canyons School District. The window to apply for student testing is September 8-October 1. For more information click here.
MAKE EVERY MINUTE COUNT: Families – we love having your students at school from bell to bell. We understand there are times every so often that students need to be checked out for appointments. We are noticing an increase of student check outs from 2:30-2:50. This creates a very busy time of day in the office. There is still a lot of learning that students are doing right up until the dismissal bell and we really want to have them in class until dismissal. Thank you for your support.
THRIVE TIME: This coming week our students district wide will start their morning meetings with Thrive Time lessons. Sept 8-Oct 3 these lessons will focus on Respecting Myself and Others: Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with others are central to success in school and in life, and require the ability to recognize the thoughts, feelings, and perspectives of others, including those different from one’s own.
ANIMALS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS – Please note this district policy summarized below and specifically using this link: Canyons District Policy on animals on School Grounds. For safety and hygienic reasons, dogs, whether leashed or not, are not allowed on school and/or district property at all times. No Dogs are allowed on school campuses except as provided for in CSD Policy–300.08–Service Animals in Schools (and approved therapy animals).
LUNCH WITH YOUR STUDENT: If a parent wants to have lunch with their student, the student needs to be checked out of school and taken off campus during the lunchtime. A parent can bring lunch to the front office and it will be brought to the student or the student will be called down to the office to receive it. District policy does not allow adult visitors in our lunchroom during meal times.
