- Thank you for attending parent conferences. Student growth and learning happens best when the teacher, parent and student know what to do and work together. Teachers say thank you to PTA for a wonderful meal on Monday that sustained them through the first evening. And finally the EME Thrift Store was a great success. It looked like many of you found a treasure!
- The after school programs Girls on the Run (Tues/Thurs) and Title I Strings (Wed) begin again this week.
- Thank you to many who have already nominated a September Teacher of Month. Each month you will have the opportunity to share how a teacher has positively impacted your student’s learning and your own experience with our school staff.
- Two students from each grade will be recognized at SOTM assemblies. If your student is receiving a SOTM award and you plan to attend, please refrain from bringing any celebratory items with you (balloons, flowers, signs, etc). We want all our students to be equally recognized at the assembly.

FROM THE PTA

- Thank you for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair. Reading with your child and encouraging reading is one of the best things you can do every day to build their vocabulary and support learning. With the fall sales, East Midvale accrued $1,500.00 in Scholastic dollars. These dollars will be used to purchase books for teachers, students & classrooms.
- PTA Reflections Art contest is happening now. Students have until October 22 to create a work of art with the theme “I Belong”. Entry categories include art that are drawings, paintings, models, sculptures, essays, poems, musical compositions or dances. Our Brain Booster team is committed to help students as needed. Additionally, students can use Art Brain Booster time to work on these projects as well.
- Classic Skate Night is Tuesday October 14. Entry is free. Bring a scooter or skates. Families can also rent these items and buy tickets for games and activities. Come join the community for this fun activity.
