RECOGNIZING EME VOLUNTEERS! Parent and community volunteers at East Midvale expand the capacity of what we do as a school – from providing extra eyes and ears on field trips, to running stations at school events, to helping young English language learners practice a new language, to building confidence and skills in math, to distributing food resources and so much more! Thank you for volunteering.
Special recognition to Mr. Mitch McClam who always pitches in to help, who leads our flag crew and every day raises and lowers the country and state flags that fly over EME. He logged the most hours this past year with 219 and counting! And to Ms. Maryann Whiting, our current PTA treasurer turning President this next school year. She has logged over 170 volunteer hours helping in the classroom, on field trips, at every event and so much more.
FINAL SPRING FRESH PRODUCE MARKET! On Tuesday May 21, parents can pick up a bag of fresh produce at no cost. Bags will be available at the end of the school day. Einsteins bagels also are available. Supplies of both are limited.
If you come for a produce bag, please plan to pick up your child after the dismissal bell. Classes are involved in year end activities all over the school grounds and this makes it very challenging for the front office to locate students in a timely way if after 2:15 pm. Thank you for considering this request.

Last week was the final Operation Sandwich Jr. Our partnership with Holladay UCC has been a wonderful way for our students to engage in service. Students in student council, safety patrol and many parents have helped make over 1800 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches over the last 9 months of school. Sandwiches were given to the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen in SLC. To celebrate these efforts, Ms. Nan Sturgeon from HUCC (a retired 5th grade teacher herself) brought posters, stickers, balloons and ice cream sandwiches for the students!
