FREE GROCERIES from the UTAH FOOD BANK: On Tuesday March 5, the Utah Food Bank will be distributing a bag of free groceries to students and families. The bags are heavy (20 pounds) and if you are able to either pick up your student at school or at the bus stop to help carry, that would be helpful. Parents can meet their students as they exit the gym on the north side of the school.
HILLCREST HIGH CULTURAL NIGHT: On March 7 from 5:00-7:30 pm at Hillcrest High, come celebrate the multitudes of cultures in our community. FREE food from food trucks (hala, vegan & gluten free available), a talent show, crafts, community information.

STUDENT HEALTH TIP of the WEEK from Nurse Amy – IMMUNIZATIONS:
Immunizations are one of the safest and most cost-effective ways of preventing disease, disability, and death.
There are many local resources to get immunizations.
- District and school clinics are held regularly. Vaccines can be obtained at no cost for qualifying students. Look for flyers and communications.
- Community Nursing Services Immunization Clinic. As a United Way Promise School, vaccinations are available to students and families of our school at no cost. Make sure you tell them you’re from East Midvale Elementary. Walk-ins are welcome. Their address is 2820 South Redwood Road in West Valley City. Their number is 801-207-8777.
The following vaccines are required for kindergarten entrance: 5 Dtap, 4 Polio, 2 MMR, 3 Hepatitis B, 2 Hepatitis A, and 2 Varicella.

STUDENT SAFETY at Drop Off and Pick Up: Thank you parents for driving slowly, using the one lane at the curb both morning and afternoon, for using north and south crosswalks to cross, and for pulling as far forward as you can. Our top priority is student safety and these procedures help our community be safe for all. Consider at afternoon pick up being IDLE FREE and turning off your engines while you wait.
REGISTRATION OPEN FOR FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN AND HALF DAY PRESCHOOL for 2024-25 at EAST MIDVALE ELEMENTARY
- Follow this link for Kindergarten Registration using a Parent Square post or visit our front office for paper registration forms. Your child needs to be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024.
- Follow this link for Preschool application. Families can apply for East Midvale’s Title I preschool if the child will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2024 and the family lives within our school boundaries. Parents provide transportation for preschool students in both morning and afternoon sessions Questions can be directed to Ms. Jeanene Moore, our preschool teacher at jeanene.moore@canyonsdistrict.org
