STUDENT HEALTH TIP of the WEEK from Nurse Amy – Did you know fevers are typically not harmful or dangerous? A fever is a temperature of 100.4 F or above. Fevers are the body’s immune system doing its job. If your child has a fever, focus more on how the child is doing rather than how high the number is. If your child is drinking and acting normal, you do not necessarily need to treat the fever. If your child is uncomfortable, you can treat the fever with Tylenol or ibuprofen and offer plenty of fluids.
