East Midvale’s Bus Safety Week begins Monday! Whether your child rides the bus every day to and from school or on field trips, knowing how to be safe on the bus is vital. The week will include daily morning safety tips on the announcement, bus songs to learn, a bus safety video to watch, safety discussions in morning circle, and bus rider meetings to go over expectations.
Parents – would you please help us instill these behaviors so that all of our students are safe on the school buses!
- S = Self management on the bus which includes staying in one’s seat, facing forward and keep all personal electronic devices in backpacks.
- O = Ownership on the bus which includes following directions the first time asked and keeping the bus clean
- A = Acceptance on the bus which includes accepting one’s seat assignment and using kind language
- R = Resilience on the bus which is doing the right thing even when others are not.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE 2026: Friday February 13 from 9:00-4:00 pm at Roseman University, 10894 S. River Front Pkwy, South Jordan. This event is meant to provide essential oral health care for those youth who may not have dental insurance. Free dental screenings, cleanings and vouchers given for comprehensive exams, x-rays, sealants, etc for kids 18 and under.
FOR FAMILIES WITH 3-5 YEAR OLDS: Canyons School District is hosting January Open Houses with information on both preschool and kindergarten. Follow this link Big Beginnings in Canyons for locations upcoming.
In addition, there will be a Kindergarten Readiness event held at Copperview Recreation Center on Tuesday January 27. Come by any time between 2:15-4:15 pm. There will be information, learning activities for children, and community resources. If you have neighbors with small children, please share this information. All are invited to the open houses!
East Midvale Family Learning Center English classes have begun for the new semester: Do you want to learn to understand and speak English? Do you want to join a parent community of learners? Please come to the English classes held Monday through Thursday in our Family Learning Center starting at 8:15 am. Just come and Teacher Kenia Bush will welcome you!
