his has been a great school year and thank all our parents and guardians for trusting us with your child’s education and well-being. These tips will help keep your child learning over the summer:
- Encourage your child to read and read with your child
- Visit the library regularly – Tyler library has storytime and snacks daily starting at 3:00 pm.
SUMMER MEALS – East Midvale Elementary is one of four sites in Canyons District that will provide FREE breakfast and lunch for any child 18 years and under this summer. This service is from June 5-July 28 Monday through Friday. Breakfast served 8:30-9:30 am and lunch served 11:30-12:30 pm. CSD Summer Meal Information
CBC FOOD PANTRY – Every Friday starting at 9:00 am as supplies last (usually out by 1:00 pm). See attached flyer.
HEALTH INSURANCE – Families on Medicaid need to re-apply – have you? Do you need help to do so? Are you uninsured and need help finding insurance for your kids and family? Take Care Utah can answer questions and help you sign up for free! Call 801-433-2299.
HILLCREST HIGH SPORT CAMPS
- Hillcrest Youth Football Camp for Grades 2-8 on June 26 & 27. $30

- Hillcrest High Cross Country Running Camp for 4th through 12 grades. Cost is $40 for 2 mornings a week training. See attached flyer.
- Hillcrest High Robotics Camp – June 12-15 or July 10-13. There is a cost associated with this camp. See attached flyer.

*4th/5th grade costs $100
*6th-8th grade costs $150
SUMMER DATES TO NOTE:
- Summer Meals at EME June 5-July 28 at 8:30 am and 11:30 am.
- Tuesday July 11 at 3:00 -3:30 pm – East Midvale’s Community Corner at Tyler Library. Ms. Pua will be there to read and do an activity. It will be fun to see EME friends. Kid’s Cafe serves snack every day at Tyler Library starting at 3:30 pm.
- Registration opens August 1 on Skyward.

FUN FACTS – Did you know … Our East Midvale school library checked out 15,835 books this past school year. Our library has almost 8,000 books for students to choose from and 1,035 of them are new this year.
