Principal Sandgren saved the best for last at our monthly SOAR assembly! The gym erupted when the banner was revealed and Mrs. Madeline Williams was announced as East Midvale’s 2026 Teacher of the Year. Her students, her colleagues and her crew of family and friends embraced and celebrated! Mrs. Williams has done amazing things over this past year in her 4th grade classroom and in the school. She makes every student feel important and valued! All her students have shown amazing growth in math learning. She maintains high expectations while treating all students with kindness and awareness of each of their unique experiences. Home visits (of which she has the most at EME this year) is part of her “secret sauce” in building relationships with her students and their families. She is one of our Student Council advisors always looking for opportunities to support these student leaders in their youth development.
