So much happening last week. In Art brain boosters with Ms. Huang, students created beautiful pumpkins to decorate the art room. Photography students from SLCC took portraits of over 50 of our students to update the Portrait Wall. Also coming from SLCC were these Halloween capes made by students! Thank you to both groups for their contributions to our community.
The obstacle course was completed on Wednesday with winners announced from each grade. Congratulations to Jameson & Fleury (K), Mathias & Donya (1st), Lucas & Sara & Rainey (2nd), Gavin & Lilyan (3rd), Jacob & Somalia (4th), Yeray & Regan (5th)! Thanks to our amazing recess team for creating this and to Junior Coaches and parents for being support staffers!
We really can do hard things! The letters for this motto were signed on Resilience Day and put together in our cafeteria by Mr. Jim Murphy, our October Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to all our October Scholars of the Month and Students of the Month for Ownership! Well done Eagles. These were presented at our SOAR assembly along with the Teacher, Staff and Volunteer of the Month!
In addition, the winners of our East Midvale Reflections contest were announced and winners recognized! This group will move on to the district level competition. Thank you to PTA member Bryony Robison for coordinating this contest at EME>
And finally the Halloween Parade. Students lined the hallways and as the parade walked by they joined in at the end. The parade weaved through the school halls and out through the Haunted Garden towards the waiting parents who lined the sidewalks. Overhead by one parent, “Best 10 minutes of the year!” as the parade walked by.
