Chronic absenteeism is shown to result in students having difficulty learning to read by third grade and is the single greatest determining factor in high school graduation rates. When students miss too much school for ANY reason, the result is a student falling behind.

TARDIES (T/W): Our teachers maximize every minute they have with their students. Students are expected to be in class prior to the tardy bell @ 8:15. Students entering the building after this time will be marked “T”. Students who arrive more than 10 min after the bell will be marked “W”. Excessive tardiness impacts a child’s ability to join in on important daily routines and structures in their classroom communities.
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES (A): Absences are considered unexcused until they have been cleared by the student’s family.
GUARDIAN EXCUSED ABSENCES (G): Absences are guardian excused when the family notifies the school regarding their student’s absence within five days of the absence
EXCUSED ABSENCES (E): An absence is excused when a doctor’s note is provided when the student returns to campus.
EXCUSED EDUCATIONAL LEAVE (V): With administrative approval, 10 days prior notice, and completion of any teacher-assigned work, a student can receive Excused Educational Leave. Educational Leave Forms can be found in the front office.
