Today is the culmination of our College & Career Week. The morning was jammed packed with activity. Thank you to all our parent and community presenters who visited classrooms and shared what they now do and how they got there. Learning all the different places one can take their education is so important.
Our presenters included a carpet sculptor, librarian, high school counselor, firefighters and police officer, school principal, nurse, professional dancer, realtors, a Midvale city judge, professional para-climber, Alta Environmental Center director, metal fabricators, software engineer for music venues, tattoo artist, fiber optics operation manager, Little Caesars marketing, Hillcrest theatre, voice and dance major, and a cartographer! Several of our presenters attended East Midvale Elementary.
Following Career Day presentations, classes gathered in the gym for Utah Opera’s “Who Wants to Be An Opera Star?” I think there might have been a couple EME students in that assembly who now want to be an opera star!
Yesterday and today, across the intermountain west, Zions Bank volunteers visited schools and taught Teach Kids 2 Save. East Midvale’s fourth grade classes were lucky recipient of this important information. Students received certificates of completion and a $2.00 bill to begin saving for their future. Thank you to Zions Bank for sharing time and resources with our students.
