Celebrating our Administrative Team today on Administrative Professionals day! Thank you to Charlotte, Mary and Callie for all that do every day to welcome our students, to address needs, to support parents and assist teachers with needs throughout the day. The front office really is the heart of our school and we are very grateful for our team!
East Midvale Elementary is beyond blessed to have Nurse Amy Clegg on our team. Nurse Clegg was awarded the Red Shoes Living Award today by the District Responsive Services Team. She was nominated by a student from BYU who spent a week shadowing and being mentored by Nurse Amy through her days at East Midvale. The Clinical Compliance Coordinator at BYU wrote, “I was strongly inspired by observing Nurse Amy. Her care went far beyond completing tasks. It was clear that she genuinely cared and was deeply invested in her students. Even on days that felt repetitive, or when interventions seemed simple, such as helping a student wash their hands, or seeing their “rash” suddenly heal, or making lots of ice packs, she remained warm, gentle, present and empowering in every interaction.”
Nurse Clegg was recently nominated for School Nurse of the Year. Our District’s School Nursing Specialist Jen Gerrard (who used to be the school nurse at East Midvale) highlights that Nurse Clegg is highly deserving of the nomination and serves as a daily reminder of how our nurses work to keep our students attending school through all the varying supports. Congratulations Nurse Amy!
On Tuesday April 21, our District recognized the Teachers of the Year from each school and we were there to cheer on ours – 4th grade teacher Madeline Williams. All the winners received an award and prizes. In addition, each teacher received two tickets to the May 16 Real Salt Lake soccer game and a jersey to wear on the field for the Teacher of the Year recognition. What a great night!
