March is national reading month because reading to our children and encouraging our children to read builds language skills, vocabulary and general knowledge that supports academic learning in school. Need an idea to encourage reading? Try these: visit our local libraries for story times, borrow books from the online library SORA, listen to audio books when traveling and when cooking, read recipes together, and read signs when taking a neighborhood walk. Small habits yield HUGE results.
