HAPPENINGS LAST WEEK:
- Thank you to the EME PTA for organizing such a successful community event at Classic Skate. Eagles packed the house and had a great time!
- Thank you to Salt Lake Community College Photography students who finished the Portrait Wall with updated pictures of 53 students. Check out our website for an updated photo or come visit after school to see.
- Thank you to our fifth graders for putting together a thoughtful and respectful Veterans Day Assembly to recognize and remember those serving in our armed forces. Thank you to Jordan High Naval Defense Cadet Corps for participation.
IT IS RED RIBBON WEEK! The PTA at East Midvale presents Red Ribbon Week with the national theme: “Life is a Movie: Film Drug Free”. Each day is a different theme and we invite all students to participate and show support for substance free living!
- Monday – Wear Red (white and blue) – “Proud to live in America and be drug free”
- Tuesday – Wear something “Inside Out” – “Turning inside out to stay drug-free”
- Wednesday – Bring or wear a Disney or Marvel item – “Believe in magic – not drugs”
- Thursday – Wear jersey/hat from your favorite team – “Team up against drugs”
- Friday – Wear SOAR t shirt – “Eagles SOAR by resisting drugs”
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 13 ALL PRO DADS: Fathers and father figures are invited to bring their students to a breakfast gathering at 7:45 am. Mr. Wilhite will show a fun video and have discussion questions and an activity about EMPATHY. RSVP on Parent Square post so we can plan accordingly.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 14 PTA MOVIE NIGHT from 5:30-6:30 pm: Bring the family to enjoy Arthur’s Thanksgiving (a PBS movie) and popcorn. Bring blankets to watch.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 15 TURKEY TROT: Our annual tradition is happening on Fri. Nov. 15 starting at 9:00 am. Parents are welcomed to volunteer and to come cheer on students! Each grade will run a course on the west side of the school. The event will be finished by 11:10 am. First place boys and girls in each grade win a turkey, 2nd places win a pie and 3rd places win a gallon of apple cider! Thank you to Zions Bancorp for sponsoring the prizes. Please send students to school in appropriate shoes and clothing to run outside. Grades will run in this order:
- 5th grade and 4th grades run then prizes awarded
- 3rd grade and Kindergarten run then prizes awarded
- 1st grade and 2nd grade run then prizes awarded
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16 at SUGARHOUSE PARK – Our East Midvale Girls on the Run team will participate in the 5K run celebrating all their efforts this past fall. Come cheer them on. Race begins at 10:00 am.

PTA BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION UPDATE: We’ve raised $178.50 of our $185 November Box Tops for Education goal! Thanks to our supporters and let’s keep inviting friends and family to the program! Connect your Walmart and Box Tops accounts for a bonus of 50 Box Tops this month! Earnings from this program will go towards art supplies for EME. If you haven’t had a chance to download the Box Tops app yet, you can find it in Google Play and Apple app stores.
